P is for Parks

Remember when it was sunny and warm and we could take all the kids to play at the park before dinner?!

I do.

Anytime the sun would like to pop back up that would be A OK with me!

I want to just take a minute to say how incredibly proud I am of our 3 Harriot ladies.

Scarlett has been an amazing big sister, even though we had always told her that she was the person who completed our family. When we were called to provide #LittleWisp with a home while her Mother worked through the system, she stepped up and was loving and caring and nurturing. Not one ounce of jealousy from her, just compassion for both baby and her Mom.  When #BrotherBear showed up out of the blue (Literally, we had told the girls we wouldn't be taking him and then BAM, he was here!) she threw open her arms and declared he was the BEST BROTHER EVER and loved him with everything she's got.

Addison has always been our constant helper.  If you need a task done calmly and correctly she's the go to gal. We knew she would take to this big sister roll (again) with ease and she did. We've spent some extra time loving on her individually and nurturing her more creative tendencies as well as encouraging her to share her feelings, because she tends to be quiet and reserved with us. She's a feeler, and we know sharing attention and not having me (Mom) around as much has been hard on her.  She is so incredibly understanding and it makes my Mama heart so proud.

Lilyanna. I find myself most proud of our first Harriot girl. This transition has been the hardest on her.  She has handled it with such grace and understanding.  She sobbed when she saw #BrotherBear in my arms nearly a month ago and wrapped her arms around us and thanked us over and over again for caring for these little loves.  Her heart is so big and so full of love having them near.  She loves with a fierce passion and she has given them nothing less than 110% of her.  She has excelled in school these last 2 years, volunteering her time with causes that matter, clubs that push her mentally, and even participating in sports and a school musical. She hasn't let extra siblings or responsibilities slow her down, in fact, she's thrown herself into trying things she's always wanted to and she's been so consistent! Her friendships have blossomed and she's becoming a strong independent young woman with a heart of gold. I know all of her parents are proud of her and the woman she is becoming.

Bathtime for BrotherBear

Our newest Foster love has been with us for almost a full month!

A few weeks ago little #BrotherBear's umbilical cord fell off and we got to give him his first big boy bath.

He was not a fan.

He was, however, a big fan of the after bath bottle!

(Yes, we have a baby bath! I just couldn't remember where we had it stored before he needed one and wasn't willing to buy a whole new tub! It has been found!)

My First Nursery

Because of how our family grew, and where we lived at the times my first 3 girls were born, I never got the opportunity to put together a nursery for any of them individually!

It has been too much fun getting to put together a nursery for Little Wisp over this last year.

We were prepping our 5 bedroom home last spring to be sold that summer because we wanted to down size a bit to fit our family better!

Little did we know that bigger plans were in store for us!

5 bedrooms was EXACTLY what our family needed.

Funny how sometimes things "fall" into place in our lives in ways that we could have never expected!

Our community showed up BIG TIME for us as well when we announced we had added another little lady to our family (for an undetermined amount of time!).

Paul's wonderful co worker Janelle gifted us a crib and changing table.

We actually received 2 cribs!

The second was from our Cousins Mike and Casey, as well as an ergo baby carrier and those wonderful blankets hanging on the ladder!

We use the carrier ALL. THE. TIME.

Our friends/family Ashlee and Nate sent over a baby bath and diaper pale.

I purchased this ladder and the 'You Are My Sunshine' sign from a wonderful friend/client.

She does wonderful work and you can find her business on Instagram @twochixdiy

Our friends Kari and Scott (and Marley too!) gifted her this perfect shelf that matched her bed!

Gummy and Papa helped out with storage bins and helping me organize all of her clothing from Aunt Lacey and Aunt Taylor and Grandmas from all sides of her family!

We seriously could not have asked for more.

She is so very loved by so many wonderful people.

She really is a little sunshine wherever she goes.
