The Puppet Show

When Lacey and I were little we used to put on plays at the top of our parents stairs.

It is one of my favorite memories from my childhood.

We forced our Mom and Dad to watch SO MANY dances/plays/poem recitals/etc; that it was only a matter of time before Karma happened.

Lily and Addison put on a puppet show for Paul and I last week!

It was perfect and funny and the girls were so happy to be showing us all their talents and hard work.

Lots of singing, jumping, and spinning!

The talent in this family is abundant!

If not a little off pitch at times.

Bon Apetit

If you've ever been in the kitchen with me when I'm cooking you know that I'm a bit of a control freak.

Three little girls in the kitchen screaming at me about food and demanding to help (see: slowing everything down and burning themselves beyond repair while simultaneously messing up the whole flow having everything fully prepared and ready to serve at the same time) is one of my worst nightmares.

That being said, I kicked everyone out of the kitchen except for Lily Sunday evening and let her make dinner for everyone!

She's been asking for a while and I was finally able to wrap my anxiety about it up long enough to teach her a few things!

She did AMAZING!

So much so that Scarlett, aka The Pickiest Eater on the Face of the Planet, ate her entire meal!

She's pretty stinking proud of herself, as she should be!

She's getting way too big way too quick!

Right for the Jugular

When I'm out and about with Scarlett the amount of Ooh's/Aahs's/She'stheCutestThingEVAR's I receive is astounding.

Mostly because the child I take out in public is COMPLETELY different from the little lady I see at home.

Seriously, this kid is adorable and devious all at the same time.

My dad was over the other day and called her an 'Imp' not knowing what the actual definition was.

When she yelled back that she was NOT an Imp he decided to look up the definition.

Imp:

A little creature, often hiding in cupboards, presses, or in general areas!! They are often evil! Some, however, are quite funny or amusing! When a 'y' is added, it becomes 'impy', which means that one would look, or act particulary bad, or like a monster.

Scarlett.

Case in point, a few months ago Lily was taking a bath and I told Scarlett that she could take a bath after her sister was finished.

Not surprisingly, she chose not to listen and was halfway into the bath and fully covered in bubbles by the time Daddy retrieved her from the tub at my request.

She stormed into the living room butt naked and declared:

"You the meanest Mommy and you not being nice to Scarlett!"

I responded in kind that I didn't need to be nice if she wasn't going to listen to the rules.

She paused for only a moment to process the facts and then went straight for the kill...

"You not even pretty."

Daddy and I's mouths dropped open, right before Daddy went into fits of giggles behind the big couch pillow.

How did she know at 3 years old that telling someone they aren't pretty is an insult?!

She apologized later and told me that I'm the most beautiful-lest Mommy she's ever met and combined it with super sweet kisses.

The little Imp.
