Scarlett's Turning 3!

Thank you so much to everyone who was able to make it to Scarlett's 3rd Birthday today!

She is one happy pirate this evening!

I'm sure we'll be hearing about this birthday for weeks to come.

We celebrated in pirate fashion with a Jake and the Neverland Pirates theme!

We had tattoos, buried treasure, pirate dress up and delicious snacks for everyone.

I hope you all had as awesome as a time as we did.

Once again, thank you for showering our littlest lady with love today!

Bubbles and Turkeys

This sweet kiddo dubbed herself the Bubble Blowing Master yesterday and tried to give all of us lessons on how to be the best!

She did rock it.

Too bad she's ignored my advice from so many years ago...

When she only had one obnoxious little sister to worry about...

Little sisters...

Are giant...

Turkeys.

You can't take your bubble (or chalk!) guard down for one second!

On a separate note!

If you'd also like to blow giant bubbles, the recipe is super simple!

1 1/2 cups light corn syrup

4 cups water

1 cup dawn dishsoap

Let it all combine for about 1/2 an hour

If you must shake it, do so gently so as not to make a ton of suds.

HOURS of FUN and 1 soapy rinse off later you'll have created some wonderful memories and GIANT bubbles!

That One Time We Went To A Movie Theater

Scarlett has JUST reached the age where she'll sit through an entire children's movie, so we've been venturing out with all 3 girls and attempting some theater outings.

For Christmas, Gummy and Papa wanted to treat the girls to seeing Frozen for the first time!

Paul and I decided to tag along, because I love Adele Dazim, and because we both enjoy a wonderful Disney Movie!

I attempted to draw out our seating arrangements and it looked horrid, so now you get to listen to me try and explain it.

Just pretend that big line is the movie screen and those little zeros are all of our heads.

Beginning from left to right...

Empy Seat, Me, Scarlett, Paul, Papa, Lily, Gummy, Addison, Empty Seat.

Just so were clear, Paul and I were on the OPPOSITE side of a large theater from all of the following nonsense.

The rest of the theater was filling up and we were waiting for the movie to start.

Addison musters up the best stage "whisper" she can and decides to inform Gummy that her "naked" is kinda hurting.

As the ladies sitting directly behind my Mom and Daughter start to giggle to themselves, my Mom asks my child if she's been wiping. 

 A valid question.

To which Addison replies "I could probably be doing a better job!". 

Oy.

 My Mom asks her if she'll be OK till after the movie when I can take her and she says yes and settles back into her chair.

Crisis averted.

For 30 seconds.

Addison then leans forward and scream across the movie theater...

"MOM! MY NAKED KINDA HURTS!"

Now, Paul and I had heard Addison's "whispers" across the theater, we were aware of what was coming, but had hoped to avoid the embarrassment train all together by hiding with Scarlett and pretending like nothing was happening.

As my dear sweet Mother, sandwiched in between our two oldest ladies, tried to shush Addison and scooch her out of the chair to head to the bathroom and avoid further embarrassment Miss Lilyanna decided we all needed further clarification on the subject.

"She means her VAGINA."

The entire theater went silent.

You could have heard a pin drop.

"NAKED MEANS VAGINA GUMMY!"

Que the entire theater audience bursting into laughter as the lights go down to start Frozen.

Literally the entire theater.

Never a dull moment with these kids.

p.s. I'm still all for teaching my children the anatomically correct names for their body parts, but fully understand now why some people choose not to.

No judgement from this Mama.

Our Beach Vacation by Scarlett

While picking the photos that I wanted to share from our weekend at the beach, Scarlett had comments.

So I've decided to make this an interview.

I'll be typing phonetically in Scarlett speak so I'll translate if necessary. 

 "I'm Scarlett. I eatin' a bee-do! I in my seat in my Mommies ban!"

(She's 100% unaware of the awesome hickey-stache she created for herself.)

"That's Sampson! Sampson's cute! It's Lily! It's Lily Lily Lily Lily! It's Addi-doo!"

"I'm Scarlett in there! I going out, we're going to the out in the lighthouse!"

"It's Lily, I'm Scarlett! She's drinkin' her juice."

"It's Papa! and Anna! It's Gummy! It's Gummy and Papa! They're taking pictures!"

(No Anna present this weekend.)

"That's Addison. She's getting on the couch."

"I'm Scarlett, she's just gonna carry me, pick me up! And Sampson's coming!"

"This is Kenny."

(I have no clue who Kenny is.)

"Found my Dad!"

"We're in a car. I'm in my car! I wanted to get in my car. Yeah."

(Scarlett place her tush in every single race car game they had. Twice.)

"I'm Scarlett. Lily's being a big mess with her ice cream. I got ice creams there! I got ice creams there! I got ice creams there!"

"Uh, I'm Scarlett in here! Daddies up there. Him's going up on the stairs. He throwing that down."

"I eating my ice cream!"

"I doing that! I doing this!"

(insert demonstration)

"Walking with Gummy. She's going taking me. I'm in my jammies. Away from me. Oh! I've got an idea!!!"

(Scarlett has decided to tell the rest of this story from underneath my desk.)

(No wait... she's back.)

"I'm spinning around on my horse! That's a big horse."

"Ummmmmm... is.... Scarlett's on my sea horse. Lily's on her horse. Lily on horse. Aaaaaah aaaaaaah uhhhhh!"

(That last part is her breaking into part of your world from The Little Mermaid.)

"I eating my breakfast. I eating pancakes."

(Lily set the whole table as a surprise to me that morning. So stinking sweet and deserves to be mentioned!)

"Mmmmm. Yum. I am Scarlett in my ship! Flag!"

(She got a hold of the bag of gummies I've been bribing her to talk with.)

*inaudible gummy chewing*

"It's Dad! It's Daddy and Me! Mmmm! These are yummy!"

"I'm Scarlett! Ida goin up on the stairs right there."

*Even more inaudible gummy chewing.*

"That's Daddy and Lily. That's my Daddy Dad Dad!"

"Where ah na na. With a car. Mmmm."

"I in there! Being a statue doobie doobie."

"We are going to the sea. We're late! We're on island!"

"I lub deez gummie bears! Yummy! Here you go Mom! Dey all gone."

I hope you read all of those in little girl squeaky voice.

I feel this best sums up our beach trip in a way I could have never explained.

She's so poetic sometimes.
