An Open Letter From Daddy & Mommy

To the beautiful, intelligent, kind, caring, vibrant and worthy little girls God has blessed us with,

Your father and I are so very proud of you.

We're proud of the loving little girls that you are and we're proud of the women we are raising you to someday be.

We have both put great amounts of effort into showing you that you deserve to be treated with the utmost respect and admiration by respecting and admiring each other openly and frequently.

Your father works so hard to provide for you not only financially but emotionally and spiritually because that's what you deserve in life.  You deserve a man that will hold your hand in public and tell you he loves you loud enough for the whole world to hear. You deserve a man who will whisper he loves you just because he wants to remind you that you are precious to him. You deserve a man who will support you in your hopes and dreams and encourage you to follow your passions in life. You deserve a man who will fight for your time and the time of your children and hold those moments dear, because childhood is so fleeting. You deserve a man who will hold his tongue in anger and who will try his best to not cut you with his words. You deserve a man who will lead and encourage a happy healthy home filled with comfort and support by his actions and words. You deserve to be proud of the man you will call your husband because he's a man that other men want to be.

Your husbands also deserve the same amount of love and respect that they provide. He will deserve to be loved and cherished by you because he provides you with security and trust. He will deserve to be honored because, one day, he will help you create and raise a life.  He will deserve to hear exactly how much you love him on a daily basis because he will strive to make sure that you are happy and healthy and loved beyond compare. He will deserve to be supported in his hopes and dreams because he will support you in yours. Most of all he will deserve your support emotionally because he will listen to you when you speak and hold you through your ups and downs.

We can only hope that one day you will find a man who does all this and more because he wants to be the man of your dreams and that you won't allow any man to deny you what you need for a happy and healthy life.

Your father and I will continue to encourage you to seek out these men and to never settle for less then you deserve by leading as examples and providing a home filled with love and mutual support.

You are precious to us.

We love you more than you can imagine.

Daddy and Mommy

Naps & Netflix

Sometimes, after the girls wake up from their naps, I still have a bit of editing work to do.

On these days I'll hand Addi-Bo-Baddi my phone and she'll navigate to her favorite netflix show of the week and lay in my bed for 1/2 an hour while I get my work finished.

Scarlett's naps tend to be longer then Addisons these days so it's rare that she gets to enjoy this time.

Except for this day when she happily snuggled her sister, watched some Big Big Friend, and gave me her best googly eyes.

I just wanna pinch her!

Pizza. PaPa. Gummy.

Every Monday for the last bajillion Mondays the girls and I have enjoyed a pizza lunch with the PaPa and Gummy.

So much so that if we happen to cancel our lunch plans I have two p.o.'ed children demanding sustenance in the form of bread, cheese, and sauce with a side of Grandparent to go.

They have really enjoyed this little ritual and I know that my parents have enjoyed it as well.

It's a wonderful little weekly check-in.

Portland Aquarium

We purchased a season pass to the new Portland Aquarium as a Christmas present to the littles.

We decided to take Addison and Scarlett for the first time this last Saturday evening.

It's a really fun interactive aquarium also in that you can actually touch most of the fish!

Addison, of course, refused to touch a single thing until we were leaving and then demanded to touch a starfish.

So I took her back to the first exhibit and forced her hand in that water.

I could not believe she was scared of EVERYTHING.

That is, everything except for standing open mouthed in a bird filled cage.

Thankfully she didn't have to learn THAT lesson the hard way.

Remember When?

Quick, it's crying.

Shove a lollipop in it's mouth.

It worked 1 year ago...

think it'll work today?
